Lecture booklet and advertising ephemera for the Parr's English Pad Co. medical device claiming to be "a certain cure for all malarial or contagious disease. Without drugging the system with harmful toxins and compounds like morphine or mercury." The Back-Ache or Kidney Pad can be placed above the small of the back opposite the umbilicus and covering the kidneys. The device is comprised of three distinct pieces, one center cloth and two elongated pads. No other medicine taken at the time of use. The lecture pamphlet also includes an original order form and folded advertising handbill: "An Honest Way to do Business!...No cure, no pay." A patent medicine treatment precursor to medicated pain relieving patches. Mild discoloration, toning, and chipping, else bright and unmarred. Publisher's printed sewn self-wrappers, with illustrations on inside/outer. 8vo. 24pp. With laid in loose advertisements on blue and buff papers.
