A poster featuring artwork by REX (c.1943–2024) for Boston’s Ramrod Bar at 1254 Boylston Street, with REX’s signature printed in the corner of the image. Ramrod opened in 1981 and closed in March of 2020. REX, whose birth name is unknown, left a career in commercial art in the 1970s and eventually made some of the most iconic illustrations relating to the leather bar scene of the 1980s, gaining inspiration from the work of Tom of Finland to launch his own career.[1] We find no other examples of this poster in the trade.
