Pittsburgh: General Auto Trim Supply Co., Inc, 1970. Leatherette. Ring binder. Near Fine. With 874 swatches of car fabric used in cars and trucks manufactured by the four major American car companies of the time -- GM, Ford, Chrysler and American Motors. Fabrics are of a wide range of material, from leather, vinyls, bolster cloth, and the cars range from the pinnacle of American luxury vehicles -- Cadillac, Lincoln, etc. -- to low end cars -- Chevrolet, Dodge, etc. and everything in between, as well as sports and specialty cars and some trucks. In keeping with that, swatches can exude understated luxury, or tacky, with patterns and textures "from Hungah"! Oblong 4to. 29 by 39.5 cm. 28 pp. Other than the first page, the swatches are arranged in varying patterns, sometimes with an illustration on the page. The leaves are of a glossy card stock, and they are tabbed with the identity of the car make and sometimes the material as well printed on the tabs. No copies found on OCLC First Search, but other distributors used essentially the same catalogue and we could be missing these. Still an uncommon type of automotive catalogue of this vintage, we believe. Minor soiling on the leatherette cover. Light wear besides.
