By Vallance, Jeffrey
Santa Monica: Smart Art Press, 1996. Second edition. Near fine.. Second edition of Jeffrey Vallance's 1979 classic conceptual tribute to a grocery store chicken. A slightly morbid commentary on the difference between pets and animals raised for food. Vallance captures the process of arranging for the burial of a pet, using a frozen chicken he bought at the supermarket. In 1999, Vallance gathered up the "relics" of BLINKY, including bones and her original wrapper, to make an installation of a chapel. 8.5'' x 5.75''. Original pictorial embossed wrappers. Patterned endpapers of "The Shroud of Blinky." [10] pages, printed recto only. Extremely light toning around spine. Else sharp and bright.
