México: Libros Mexicanos, 1930. (Some wear on wraps; delicate). b/w plates, wrps. Illustrations by Fermin Revueltas (b. Mexico 1902-1935). Scarce modernist illustrated book. Mexican poet born in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, in 1833. He studied jurisprudence in Mexico City, becoming a passionate political fighter and defender of liberal ideas in columns Horoscope, The Idea, The Constitution, The Light of the Free and many other publications of the time. He alternated journalism with poetry. Died destitute in 1882. Only one copy in OCLC (Illinois).
