Friedrich Karl von Savigny's Das Recht des Besitzes (1803), later translated into English as The Law of Possession (1848), is a historically oriented analysis of the concept of possession in Roman law. A landmark in Continental legal scholarship, it was an influential work among Anglo-American jurists. This pamphlet is a compilation of three articles by an expert on Roman law that were originally published in the American Jurist. Taken together, they provide an astute summary and analysis the book that must have been useful for non-German readers, or those who didn't have time to read the book. This is a scarce title.
