Weimar, Germany, 1886. Photograph. Very Good +. Scarce original photograph of Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt (1811-1886) in his study, at his writing table, in his long-term residence in Weimar, Germany (1869-1886). Taken by the renowned Weimar photographer Louis Held, whose blindstamp-in-block is impressed on the photograph at the lower right corner. And also inscribed in the original beige matting by Liszt's long-time housekeeper Pauline Agel. Handsome scarlet-red mount, decorative gilt-frame. The photo measures 7" x 10" and is clean and crisp, with a touch of light bleaching.
