Travelling exhibition mounted by the British Council and the Royal Geographical Society to 5 venues in the Caribbean: Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Cuba, Haiti. Johnston's remarkable photographs began life as illustrations for an ethnographic study which he considered would contribute to a re-evaluation of Caribbean culture. The hope of the organizers is to generate debate about the nature of Johnston's imagery and the value and legacy of his output.
