British novel, about a young woman who devotes herself to social service and charity work, and becomes involved in labor unrest in connection with her work with the Ironworkers Union in London. Some of the characters from an earlier novel by the same author, "Christopher Hibbault, Roadbuilder," are featured. (Also published by William Heinemann, London, the same year.) .
