London: Methuen and Co, 1896. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover. VERY SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THE U.S. Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch (1863-1944) was a British writer who published under the pseudonym Q. He was a prolific writer, publishing over 30 works of fiction, including novels and collections of stories. He also published approximately 20 works of criticism and anthologies. He is most remembered, though, for his publication of The Oxford Book of English Verse 1250–1900 (later extended to 1918). He was knighted in 1910, and in 1928 was made a Bard of the Cornish cultural society Gorseth Kernow. He was also known as a excellent writer of verse, with his most serious poetical work contained in this volume, Poems and Ballads (1896). Very good in modern binding. Maroon cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. Interior is clean and bright. Ex-library with stamp to title page. 117 pages + ads. Poetry. POE212260.
