Catholic French author Marcel Jouhandeau (1888 - 1979) struggled to repress his homosexuality throughout his life. Much of his work address passion and Christian morality.

4to. Very good in beige paper wrappers with red and black title to spine and front panel. The interior is clean and bright, printed in red and black ink. In original glassine with large closed tear along front hinge and minor chipping to edges. Dampstain along rear edge of glassine and small puncture mark to rear panel. 266 pages. FRE/100307.
