According to the website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, William A. Morton was a prolific author of missionary tracts for the Church throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He was born in Ireland in 1866. He converted to the Church while still in Ireland and came to the United States in 1891 to serve in the Church. Morton returned to England twice to serve as a missionary at the Church's British Mission and served both times as the associate editor of the Millennial Star, the Church's main publication in Europe. Morton died in 1930, and as part of his legacy, he left dozens of publications that have been used in different areas of the world to share the Mormon faith. This self-published work is a promotional effort, subtitled "A Sketch of Utah and Mormonism, the Articles of Faith of the Mormon Church, the Resources and Attractions of the State, etc, etc." Includes a copy of the Articles of Faith, a Sketch of Utah and Mormonism by Orson Whitney, photographs of many non-Mormon churches in Salt Lake City, and a review of historic monuments. Oblong 4to. Brown paper wrappers with black title and decoration to front wrapper. Chipped on right side and repaired. Edgeworn and chipped. Minor damp staining to spine.
