By [Stueber, William H.]
449 West 48th Street, New York City, 1934. 1 vols. 11 x 8-1/2 inches. Some marginal tape-repaired tears, else very good. 1 vols. 11 x 8-1/2 inches. This story was originally titled “Phantom of Justice”; its hero bears a resemblance to Johnston McCulley's character Zorro: dressed in black, with a black mask, riding a black stallion, his real persona that of an intelligent, resourceful friend of downtrodden Mexican people, he is known as the Masked Rider, righter of wrongs. The fact that the story was published in The Masked Rider Western pulp magazine, Vol. 1, No. 3, for August 1934, is clearly no coincidence.
