Lovely, luminous group of Venetian views lovingly shot and printed by the Russian-born photographer Kessel (1902 - 1995), whose work for LIFE magazine won international acclaim. As he wrote in his book, ON ASSIGNMENT: DMITRI KESSEL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHER (New York, Abrams, 1985): "In sun, rain, fog, snow, photographing Venice was, for me, a labor of love "
