The iconography is from all the regions of Brazil from the first landscape painter of Brazil, Frans Post (c. 1665) to classic albums of traveller aritsts, such as Debret and Rugendas. Included is the one and only painting of the city of São Paulo of the epoch painted by Palliere in 1821 and early prints and paintings of Rio de Janeiro.
