The volumes are divided in two parts: an introductory presentation of the main topic and the analytical study of related artworks and architecture found in museums and other places of public access. This second volume features plastic arts and architecture produced in colonial Brazil for more than 250 years, and where the predominant styles were mannerist, baroque and rococo. The book reviews the military fortress, civil buildings and missions by the Jesuits who later constructed villages, convents and churches, including the church Sao Miguel das Misssoes (RS) with ornamentations by artists Aleijadinho and master Ataide. Many color plates dedicated to highlighting the best examples of mineiro and nordestino baroque in cities like Ouro Preto, Gois and Olinda amonst others.
