Novel set during the 1910s, with the action split between "Pleasantville" (Amber's hometown) and New York (specifically Greenwich Village), where our heroine and her circle of friends "were caught up in [the] rising tide of feminine assertion." The author was a prolific writer of scripts for soap operas and other radio programs during the 1940s and 1950s. .
