According to the introduction: "This short record concerns the pioneer life of the church, for which thanks are to be given for the use of old records, though inadequate, and to the willingness of those who remembered." The book focuses on the Old Waverly neighborhood in Baltimore beginning with a brief history of the area starting just after the Civil War in the 1870s. The chapters are mostly organized to align with terms of pastors in Old Waverly. Includes anecdotal historical information such as the salaries of pastors ($300 in the 1870s up to $2,500 in the 1930s), history of Boy Scout Troops in the area, and other reminiscences.

Bookplate of previous owner to front paste down as well as signature of another previous owner to front free end page. Very slight musty smell to book, else is clean and bright.
