Genearl John Coffin (1756-1838) was in the loyalist army during the American Revolution and later settled in New Brunswick. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick and a member of the Executive Council of the Province. He attained the rank of General in the British Army in 1819. His brother, Sir Issac Coffin, loyalist and later Admial, is best known for having promoted American interests abroad from England and founding Coffin Nautical Academy in Nantucket. The "Life of Sir Isaac Coffin" was written by Thomas Coffin Amory in 1886. Undoubtedly the Amorys and Coffins intermarried. Both families were at least partly loyalists

William Tudor (January 28, 1779–March 9, 1830) was cofounder of the North American Review and the Boston Athenaeum. Howes T405
