Chicago: Keen and Lee, 1857. First edition. Hardcover. 451; 5pp. Octavo [20 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with elaborate gilt and blind stamped designs on the spine and front cover. Good. The covers are gently bumped and rubbed. The spine is rolled, and the title and vignette on the spine have faded. The text block is cracked several times, however the book is still quite sturdy. The pages are browned. With A Prairie and Wood Map, A Geological Map, A Population Map, and Other Illustrations. All 3 maps present and in very good condition. Subjects include the laws, climate, soil, plants, and animals.
