"France ... was the country to whose courts belonged the principal administration of his estate, and his will was brought before the Court of Chancery here by Mr. Wallace ... in aid of the French administration. The universal legacy gave rise to two questions ... 1st, what was the extent, topographically, of the word 'London' as used by the testator; and 2ndly, what institutions were included within the description, 'Les Hospices de Londres'" (1-2).
