2 volumes, 8vo, period (original?) tooled crushed green morocco with raised bands, gilt lettered vellum spine labels, gilt dentelles, all gilt edges, illustrated, 498, 543 pp. Spine ends, raised bands and extremtities a bit rubbed and faded, lables faded, normal aging; else very attractive set. Regimental coat of arms hand-painted on silk panel tipped into volume one. The set contains 11 steel engraved portraits, and dozens of woodcut engravings and vignettes. Clark covers the regiment military activities from the war in 1812 to the Civil War. There are also many short biographies on officers in this unit. This elaborate and very attractive binding is possibly a presentation copy, but there is no printed or written indication of it.
