Small 4to, original pictorial yellow wrappers, stitched, illustrated, 32 pp. Wrappers are a bit soiled, smudged and stained, pencil scribble and small chips to rear cover; last page torn, but not affecting text, early owner’s signature at the top of front cover. This is a first edition of the first children’s version of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s anti- slavery classic. This edition contains eight full page wood-cut engravings, featuring illustrations of Topsy, Uncle Tom, Eva, and Simon Legree. The last page has Little Eva’s song.
