Bindings are chipped and worn at spine and extremities, some hinges are split. Also, slightly bent, but not that noticeable. A very good first edition of this classic set of Americana edited by William Cullen Bryant. Profusely illustrated with hundreds of wood and 49 steel engravings by S.V. Hunt, James Smallie, Thomas Moran, Henry Fenn and others.
