Partial Manuscript Insurance Policy with the New Amsterdam Fire Insurance Company

Folio (11 3/4 x17), 4 pp., plus two attached receipts for 1854 &1856, engraving on top of first page, signed. Some slight aging, creasing at folds, but in very good or better condition. This is a fire insurance policy of John Wallis for a two story building on the North side of Broadway, just off Mullberry Street, in Paterson, New Jersey.The premium was $15 for $1,200 in coverage.It appears that the proceeds from the policy were to be paid to a Cornelius Duryea. An intesting account of an early insurance policy, with premiums that just about anyone could handle.
