Pamphlet, folio 912x8), unbound 6pp. + blank leaf. Some marginal darkening, otherwise near fine to fine. According to the treaty, the main part of the deal is that the fierce Blackfeet agree to become peaceful and acknowledge the jurisdiction of the U.S. Government over trade and routes. Seems that they also had to withdraw from some routes and lands. It isn’t clear what the Blackfeet got out of this treaty, but it was agreed to by WAH-HAW-CHUNK-I-AH-PEE (The One that is used as a Shield) and WAH-MUN-DEE-WAK-KON-O (The War Eagle in the Air). U.S. representatives included Newton Edwards, Major General S.R. Curtis, and Brigadier General H.H. Sibley. Large paper issue limited to 75 copies.
