Mexico 1882) studied at the Academia de San Carlos in Mexico and won a scholarship to study in Europe and received his doctorate in Rome. In Paris he became part of the Academia Imperial de Bellas Artes and won the Napoleon II award for his project "Escuela de Marina y Puerto en Tehuantepec. He returned to Mexico in 1864.
