Brooklyn, NY: Brooklyn Life Publishing Company. Decorative Cloth. Collectible; Very Good. 3 nicely-bound folio volumes of the weekly "Brooklyn Life". Each volume collects half a year's worth of issues: Vol. I: Sept. 1901-Feb. 1902; Vol. II: March-August 1904; and Vol.III: Sept. 1917-Feb. 1918. Undoubtedly the most thorough weekly accounting of all things Brooklyn (and Long Island), the newspaper has a wonderful local focus and consists of business advertising, photographs and cartoons thruout, not to mention the most detailed reporting on Brooklyn's growing financial industry, real estate, the school scene, sports, weddings, etc. A gamut of turn-of-the-century Brooklyn life, painstakingly documented. All 3 volumes have held up nicely as well and are solidly-bound and VG, in their russet cloth (with light-blue spine labels) over marbled boards. Light wear and rubbing to the boards, very light soiling to the preliminaries. The pages of the weeklies are bright and clean and eminently readable. A very impressive collection of 70 some issues of this early, now-uncommon New York weekly.
