Pamphlet, 8vo, stitched, uncut, 132 pp. Some small tears and chips at extremities, some soiling to title and final pages, normal aging and browning. Price (1723-1791) was a prominent philosopher and poltical radical. He was also a clergyman, and continued to preach until his death in 1791. Around 1758, he started to publish his political and moral views, and in 1776, wrote this pro American tract that defended American patriots. His pro American views even got him an invitation from Benjamin Franklin in 1778 to come to America to advise on financial matters.This was a very important work in its time, and was published in a number of editions, including editions in Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
