8vo, original gilt lettered green cloth, later added paper spine label, with large folding map (26 1/2x41), [2], 174 pp. Mild soiling and edge wear to cloth, while map is present and complete, there are significat tears at the folds and some short tears elsewhere, and rather crude blue trape repairs throughout. Text very good, map fair to poor. This is an early report of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers, based on a Raynolds survey in 1859. Despite the fact that a short report was published in 1860, the actual work was delayed by the Civil War. Included is a large map of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers and their tributaries.
