Chicago: The Blakely Printing Company, 1889. Leather bound. Good. Thick quartos [26 cm] Two of the volumes have dark brown leather and two of the volumes have dark red leather boards. Gilt stamped titles on the spines and embossed decorative designs on the covers. Volumes 1 and 2 have been rebacked with three quarters of the original spines laid over. Also some restoration work to the corners of the covers as well. Marbled edges. Speckled endsheets. The front board of volume 4 is completely detached (but present) and the rear board is partially detached. There are several losses from the leather of the spine ends of this volume as well. The largest loss measures 1 inch wide by 1 inch deep. There is a large loss from the title page of volume 4, obscuring most of the title. The introduction page of this volume has two large closed tears. There are very occasional light moisture stains or stains on the pages or edges of the pages. The darkest and largest stains are in volume 1 between pages 51 and 84. The very largest of them measuring 7 inches wide by 2 inches tall. The majority of the pages are clean. This was originally printed when Colorado was a fairly young state.
