Library plate, some heavy foxing within, and folding plate is torn. Hoyt (1765-1850) was a Major General in the Massachusetts militia, and wrote a few books on early American history. This work takes you through the expansion of settlements in New England, and covers the Indian wars from King Philip’s War to the French and Indian War. As the secondary title suggests he devotes considerable space to killings and brutality by the Indians.
