The entries are quite detailed; several entries have sub-divisions and many contain cross-references. A Sardinian notary was an important legal officer with a role analogous to a present-day English solicitor. The Kingdom of Sardinia led the Risorgimento and its legal system was adopted by the states that comprise present-day Italy.
