- Washington:: A. & G. Way,, 1811.
Pamphlet, removed, dbd, 27 pp. Removed, title page with a couple of small tears on the top, not affecting text, normal aging and foxing; else about very good. John Taliaferro (1768-1852) and John P. Hungerford (1761-1833) were competing for the same house seat in 1811. While it appears that Hungerford had more votes, Taliaferro's camp claimed that some of Hungerford's votes were not legitimate. A committee was set up to investigate, and this pamphlet gives Hungerford time to present his case. Taliaferro was elected to Congress four times between 1800and 1834, and Hungerford was also a Congressman, and served in both the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. It appears that Taliaferro won the seat, but Hungerford would be back in Congress after the War. # 100965
