Leather bound. 407pp. Octavo [24 cm] 3/4 black leather with black pebbled cloth covered boards, and the title stamped in gilt on the spine. Very good. The covers and spine have numerous areas of abrasion, and the underlying boards are exposed at the corners. The black cloth is a little dulled. The pages are mildly browned and have occasional small light stains. Text block cracked at the center. Devoted to Literature, Art, Science, Industry, Biography, Current Events, Travel, Humor, Education, Etc., Etc. Subjects include Great Salt Lake City (1853), How to Read, Social Position of Diverse Animals, Elements of Success in Life, and A Visit to the Tower of London. Also contains a section on The "Mormon" Metropolis.
