Folio, original cloth, blind stamped on the front cover, gilt lettering on spine, complimentary card included, illustrated, 255 pp. Slight toning to paper; a near fine copy. This title provides a short history of the Harvard University Library, a few lines on John Harvard, and a reproductions of some of the prized items in the Harvard Collection, including a broadside that reports on the fire at Harvard in 1764 that destroyed the existing library. The book also includes ten color plates, and black and white illustrations on a range of subjects from incunabula to French literature.
