1959 World Series Program. Chicago White Sox.
- [Chicago]: , 1959.
Program, 4to, pictorial covers, illustrated. Slight aging and toning, game scoring in the progarm; covers generally bright, clean, and firm, a very nice copy overall. In the 1959 World Series the Dodgers would make their first trip to the championship as residents of Los Angeles. Thanks to home runs from Duke Snider and Wally Moon in the final game, the Dodgers took the Sox in six. The Dodgers had a great pitching staff, which included Don Drysdale, Johnny Podres, Larry Sherry, and Sandy Koufax. They also had some pretty good talent in the field, including Gil Hodgers, Charlie Neal, Muary Wills, and Carl Furillo. White Sox players included Bob Shaw, Louis Aparicio, Norm Cash, and Sam Esposito. baseball-almanac website.
