While it is believed to have its origins in England or the Netherlands, bundling is probably best know as a courting practice in colonial America. In fact, Some historians believe that the practice was more common in parts of Pennsylvania. Since dating wasn't much of an option in the 'good old days', couples were allowed to sleep together, often wrapped in blankets to provide a level of intimacy before marriage, but prohibiting sex. To really ensure no sex was possible, a bundling board may have been used too. The author of this work attempts to provide some historical context to the practice.
