Sydney: The Shepherd Press, 1945. Limited edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Quarto [33 cm] Decorative green paper covered boards with a gilt stamped vignette on the front cover. With the scarce dust jacket. The boards are just a little bit stained, and the front board is slightly warped. Mildly rubbed and bumped at the extremities. There is a large dark area of foxing on the top edge of the text block. The hinges have been reinforced. The pages are tanned. The dust jacket is quite fragile. Age-toned. The edges are quite chipped, and there are multiple losses. The largest loss measures 4 inches wide by 2 and 1/4 inches deep. There are also numerous, lengthy closed or thin tears along the edges and folds. Fourteen reproductions in colour from original oil paintings, and 16 half-tone plates reproduced in black and white; with essays by Douglas Stewart and Norman Lindsay. Number 881 of 1,000.
