Francis Vielé-Griffin (1864-1937) was born at Norfolk, Virginia, the son of General Egbert Ludovicus Viele, an officer in the Union Army during the Civil War. He moved to France with his mother at the age of 8 years. He became known as a French symbolist poet, known for his free verse. This work is a compendium of three poems. At publication, there were 10 copies printed on Hollande paper, numbered 1 to 10. This copy appears to be part of the regular edition as it is not numbered. Very good in modern red cloth boards with black leather title label to spine. Rubbing to boards and minor wear to edges. Original yellow paper wrappers are bound in. The pages are browned, a little brittle, and unopened. 222 pages plus advertisements. FRE/011713.
