- Boston: : A.W. Lovering,, 1880.
Small 8vo, decorated cloth, with gilt lettering and lion illustration, illustrated, 384 pp. Binding scuffed and worn in places, top joint cracked, previous owner pasted a small newspaper clipping concerning Livingston relics to the end of the last page, contents generally clean and bright. Published a few years after his death, this work was one of several titles that celebrated the life of Livingston. However, the lithograph illustrations are probably better than the average illustrations found in these volumes. The frontispiece is a portrait of Livingston, but other illustrations include Livingston discovery of Lake Ngami, a view of Victoria Falls, Stanley entering the hut where Livingston died, and a picture of Livingston escaping from a lion. There is also a small map of Southern Africa showing Livingston's travels.
