Deckled fore and bottom edges. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are gently bumped and rubbed. The top edge of the front cover has a small stain and indentation. There is a former owner's name, along with a date, on the front free endsheet. With the original plain paper dust jacket, in very good condition. The title has been handwritten in pen on the spine of the jacket. Spain in the West IX. Subjects include Cortes and Mendoza as Rivals, Alvarado Joins Mendoza, and Alta California Abandoned.
