Large 4to, cloth, with leather spine label, illustrated, no dust jacket, 163 pp. Slight aging, edges slightly soiled; otherwise very good plus condition. James Stephens (1880-1950) was born in Dublin, and ended up in an orphanage when he was six. He published his first short story in 1905, and in 1912 his very successful The Crock of Gold came out in 1912. The present edition is limited to 1500 copies, and is signed by the illustrator Robert Lawson. DNB.
