Includes laid in letter, dated March 17, 1915, to Mrs. T. B. Aldrich from W. S. Appleton (Cor. Sect., Society for the Preservation of N.E. Antiquities) thanking her for loaning this volume for use in their heraldic exhibition and noting that the collection of coats of arms "proved to be among the most popular features of the exhibition." Also laid in is what appears to be an original print from the Century Gallery of One Hundred Portraits, Thomas Bailey Aldrich: Plate LVIII, 1891 (light edge wear, else fine). A unique volume, of exceptional importance in the right collection. Light shelf wear, minor damage at head, chip at heel, front joint cracked, else tight, bright and unmarred.
