  • Keene, New Hampshire:: John Prentiss,, 1806-1807.
By [New Hampshire].
Small folio sheets (10 1/2" x 16"), most editions four pages, removed. One or two issues have a couple of small holes, a few issues are partially separated at centerfold, some issues more browned and aged than others, and one of two have some staining and soiling, some margin chips or small tears; overall the collection is in very good condition. This is a collection of eleven issues of the New Hampshire Sentinel. While it isn't a consecutive run, this are all issues from Vol. VIII (Numbers 401, 402, 403, 408, 409, 410, 411, 413, 414, 416, and 417), and covers November 1806 to March 1807. As expected lots of local news and ads, including ads for Almanacs, farms and itch ointment. However, there is also decent coverage of affairs in Europe and Russia, and some mention of the Western expansion into the Ohio Valley. There is also a fair amount of coverage of the activities of Col. Aaron Burr.
