By ADAMS, Herbert
Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott, [1927]. Octavo (19.5cm); brown cloth with titles stamped in red on spine and front panel; dustjacket; 248pp. Light foxing to text edges; Near Fine. Dustjacket is unclipped, lightly rubbed, with a few shallow chips and tears, and light soil to rear panel; Very Good+. A novel set in 1931, where London is on the verge of a general strike. The story involves the daughter of England's biggest press magnate, and the three men who fall in love with her - a gentleman, a labor leader, and a revivalist. The British edition was published in 1926, and while this is undated, OCLC provides a date of 1927. Bound from British sheets, likely the first American edition; while we find it highly unlikely that this would have been reprinted, the possibility exists. Rare in or out of jacket, with OCLC locating just 8 institutional holdings for the American edition.
