Covers detached or nearly detached, some significant wear to spine and extremities, with some tears and pieces missing from spines, slight aging, occasional foxing, a little soiling and staining. Needs rebinding, but contents are in very good condition. Tacitus (56 AD-120 AD) was a very influential Roman historian born to a wealthy family in Gaul. He became a senator during the reign of Domitian, and was well known for his oratory and debating skills. He was also a prolific writer producing 16 books during his lifetime. This set provides a substantial part of his key writings and the four maps of the Ancient World, Asia, Italy and Germany are present, and in very nice condition.
