Deseret News, 1886. Very Good. [C.R. Savage] Deseret Evening News, January 7, 1886. Volume 19, Number 38. Salt Lake City: Deseret News, 1886. 4pp. Folio. Folded Newspaper. Book condition: Very good. Very slight soiling to edges and a couple of faint damp stains on blank spaces. Tiny closed tears in middle of centerfold, leaving the text very readable, and closed tear from top edge along the fold, not affecting the text. A handsome copy with charming ads. Front page articles include mention of the Edmunds Bill, which would eventually ban the practice of polygamy, and formation of the Utah Commission. With an ad from Charles Roscoe Savage, famous Western photographer, and several promotions of Victorian remedies. For example, one ad reads, ""Gaffenberg Catholicon. A Great Remedy for all Female Complaints. This Medicine cures Female Weakness and Nervousness"" .
