Novel about a young drama critic who's also an aspiring playwright, set "against the exciting background of the newspaper and theatrical worlds of New York in the twenties." (The photo used for the dust jacket, however, is from the late 1930s.) The protagonist's mother ran a bookshop in New Jersey. .
