Apart from the author's travel series "Ce Que J'ai Vu," Béraud is best known for winning the Prix Goncourt for his best-selling novel Le Vitriol de Lune (1922) and later for being sentenced to death (later commuted to life imprisonment) for collaborating with the Germans during the Second World War.
